Vermont Folk Artist Gloria Hurd Lowell taught herself to sew
when she was eleven and has grown creatively every year since then!
In her 20's, she added to her mastery of textile crafts by taking
painting and art classes and 10 years ago she began her study of
Scandinavian flat plane carving, developing her own technique of
carving on clay. It is Gloria's unique ability to combine and personalize
her painting, sewing and carving skills which characterizes her
style of Folk Art.
A note from Gloria:
In the past three years I have designed and released almost 70 patterns and 7 needle felting kits. I love whimsical folk art so I believe my patterns have a whimsical folky country style. I also carry 7 different kinds of sheep's wool and mohair for doll hair. Along with hand dyed wool and mohair.
